The Visiting Nurse Association of Greater Lowell provides coordination of acute short-term home health services, focused on teaching self-care management.  Our Nurses assess the patient's condition in the home setting, communicate with the physician, provide treatment, teach patients and caregivers how to manage at home.

The concept of a Goods Bank is similar to that of a Food Bank.  We work all year long to make sure that basic goods are available in one central location to all of the caseworkers so that they can spend more time doing their core jobs and still know that their clients get  basic needed things.

The Citizen School's after school program at the Wang middle school is looking for volunteer citizen teachers (CT's).  The role of the CT is to teach a subject that they are passionate about to the middle schools students in their group.  Each group consists of 10 - 15 students ranging in age from 10 to 15.  Past subjects have included cooking, engineering, journalism, art, and many other areas.

Latin Roots

Organization Description:  Latin Roots in working to improve the performance of Latino high school youth here in Massachusetts by implementing En Camino, a program based on best practices from successful projects across the country, and tailored to the specific needs of each community.

After-school program for local Latin youth (but open to all) with the ultimate goal of motivating a larger percentage kids to graduate high school. Activities include the arts, dance, video production, and other fun activities. M, W, F, 3 till 5 p.m.

Organization Description: RAP is an environmental after-school program for Lowell High School teens. Members are largely, but not exclusively, Asian teens. Activities include the arts, performance arts, video production, field trips, environmental cleanups, and community outreach.
